Communications related to EPA Brownfields/ANSCA contaminated lands grant awards and FY 2023-24 funding. Support for project funding for site assessment and clean up Research EPA IRA Climate Pollution Reduction Grant Program. Support for FY 2024 grant application

Support for enhanced DOD presence in Unalaska and the Aleutian Islands

Tracking and alerting client of funding opportunities available through the Dept. of Transportation Support for Captains Bay Road and water utilities projects, including CDS/CPF submissions for FY 2025. Tracking of FY 2025 THUD & Interior Appropriations BiLls Support for entrance channel dredging to Dutch Harbor. Support for funding for breakwater repair.

● Lobbying efforts ongoing to improve the FISHES Act (H.R. 5103/S.4262) to streamline the federal fishery disaster process; provide feedback to Hill staff on draft economic impact provision in the Protect American Fisheries Act of 2024; submit white paper to Hill staff on alternative fishery disaster assistance models ● Continue to monitor MMPA issues; developments related to Steller Sea Lion conservation; provide Client with analysis of NOAA proposed rule on the MMPA 2025 LOF ● Monitor congressional hearings/markups on ocean-related legislation and report to Client; advise Client on H.R. 8862 to reauthorize the MSA; provide feedback to Hill staff on the Whale Charts Act. ● Ongoing monitoring and reporting on numerous marine/oceans issues including: status of marine sanctuaries in the region, Hill staff changes, NOAAs 2023 IRA spend plan, MMPA issues; fishery disaster reform; VIDA status; OSW energy development & impacts on whales; WA-AK chinook salmon status and SRKW population issues; MSA reauthorization, Hill staff changes, NOAAs 2023 IRA spend plan, National Seafood Strategy, ESA Alaska King Salmon petition, Russia seafood import ban and NOAAs NSG proposed rule Development of written comments for submission on draft Environmental Assessment on M/V Selendany Ayu oil spill recovery
