Terms of Service

Effective August 30, 2026. Plain-language summaries appear in italics; the full text controls.

1. Agreement

Using the site means you accept these terms.

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and the operator of Gov Relations (“Gov Relations,” “we,” “us”), governing your access to and use of govrelations.ai and its related services (the “Service”). By accessing or using the Service you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. What the Service is (and is not)

We republish and organize public government records. A profile here is not an endorsement, a rating of quality, or advice.

The Service organizes and presents information from public records, principally filings made under the federal Lobbying Disclosure Act and published by the U.S. Senate Office of Public Records, together with limited material submitted by users (such as claimed-profile biographies) and automatically generated summaries. Profiles exist because the underlying public record exists; inclusion in the directory does not mean a person or firm has any relationship with Gov Relations, has endorsed the Service, or has been evaluated by us.

The Service is provided for general informational purposes only. It is not legal, financial, lobbying, compliance, or professional advice, and it is not a recommendation to hire, retain, or avoid any person or firm. Labeled sponsored placements affect ordering within results as disclosed on the page; they never alter the underlying records. Gov Relations is independent and is not affiliated with the United States Congress, the U.S. Senate, or any government agency.

3. Accuracy and corrections

We present filings as filed, and we fix our mistakes, but we can’t guarantee the record or our processing of it is error-free.

Public filings contain errors, inconsistencies, and lag; our automated processing (including matching the same person across filings, parsing disclosed positions, and generating summaries) can also introduce errors. In particular, the job titles and covered official positions disclosed on filings are often abbreviated or ambiguous as filed, and may be reformatted, automatically or by hand, for legibility; the wording as filed remains available in the linked official filings, and reformatting errors are corrected on request via Request an edit. We do not warrant that any information on the Service is accurate, complete, or current. Every profile links to the underlying official filings, which are the authoritative record. If you believe something is wrong, use Report a data issue; we review every report. Our policy is to correct errors in our presentation promptly. Accurate public filing records themselves are not removed from the Service; see Section 8.

4. Accounts and claimed profiles

Claim your own profile only, tell the truth on it, and keep your account secure.

You may create a free account to use certain features. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your sign-in method secure. Profile claiming is available only to the person a profile describes (or a person authorized to act for a firm). By claiming, you represent that you are that person or authorized agent, and that material you add (photo, biography, career history, contact preferences) is truthful, yours to submit, and does not infringe anyone’s rights. We may decline, suspend, or revoke a claim or account, and remove user-submitted material, at our discretion, including where we believe a claim is not genuine or submitted material is false, unlawful, or misleading. Filing-derived data cannot be edited by anyone, including us, except to decipher official government roles.

5. Acceptable use

Don’t break the site, impersonate anyone, or bulk-harvest it.

You agree not to: (a) impersonate any person or claim a profile that is not yours; (b) submit false, defamatory, or unlawful content; (c) interfere with or disrupt the Service, probe or test its security, or bypass access or rate limits; (d) use automated means to scrape, harvest, or bulk-download the Service’s pages or compiled database, or resell or redistribute the compiled database, without our written permission (the underlying government filings are public and available at lda.gov); (e) use the Service to harass or stalk any person, or for any unlawful purpose; or (f) use contact features to send spam or solicitations unrelated to the professional’s services.

6. AI-generated content and answers

AI features summarize the filings and can be wrong. Verify against the filings before relying on anything.

Some content on the Service, including search answers and profile summaries, is generated automatically from the filing record using artificial-intelligence systems. Such content is constrained to the record but may nonetheless be incomplete, outdated, or incorrect, and is provided with no warranty of any kind. It is not advice. Always verify against the linked official filings before relying on it.

7. Intellectual property

The public records belong to everyone. Our site’s design, software, and compilation are ours.

The underlying government filings are public records, and facts are not owned by anyone. The Service’s software, design, text we author, organization, and the selection and arrangement of the compiled database are protected by intellectual property laws and belong to Gov Relations or its licensors. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive license to access and use the Service for its intended purposes. Users who submit content to claimed profiles retain ownership of it and grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, and distribute it as part of the Service.

8. Public-record content policy

We correct errors. We don’t delete accurate public filings.

The Service exists to make legally mandated public disclosures readable. Consistent with that purpose, accurate information drawn from public filings is not removed on request. We promptly correct inaccuracies in our presentation, and the person a profile describes may claim it to control its presentation (photo, biography, contact preferences). In exceptional circumstances we may, at our sole discretion, limit a page’s visibility; any such decision is ours alone and creates no obligation to act similarly in other cases.

9. Third-party services and links

The Service links to third-party sites (including official government sites and professionals’ own sites) and uses third-party infrastructure. We are not responsible for third-party sites or services. Introductions or inquiries you send through the Service are delivered to the professional or firm you choose; any engagement that follows is solely between you and them.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE AND ALL CONTENT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, OR AVAILABILITY. YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE IS AT YOUR SOLE RISK.

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, GOV RELATIONS AND ITS OPERATOR, AFFILIATES, AND SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY, ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (US$100) OR THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN LIMITATIONS, SO SOME OF THE ABOVE MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

12. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Gov Relations and its operator from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from content you submit, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or of any law or third-party right.

13. Disputes: informal resolution first, then arbitration

Talk to us first. Most problems are fixable in a day. If not, disputes go to individual arbitration, not class actions.

Before filing any claim, you agree to contact us through the site’s contact form and allow thirty (30) days to resolve the issue informally. Except for claims that qualify for small-claims court or seek injunctive relief for intellectual-property misuse, any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service will be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules. YOU AND GOV RELATIONS EACH WAIVE THE RIGHT TO A JURY TRIAL AND TO PARTICIPATE IN A CLASS ACTION. These Terms are governed by the laws of the District of Columbia, without regard to conflicts of law principles.

14. Changes, termination, and general terms

We may modify the Service or these Terms; material changes will be posted here with a new effective date, and continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. We may suspend or terminate access for violation of these Terms. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remainder stays in effect. These Terms, with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service. Questions: contact us here.
