Implementation on FY23 "Pilot Program on Sustainable Building Materials" for National Defense Authorization Act National Defense Authorization Act FY24 provisions related to certification of eligible construction materials for mass timber consideration and continuing education provisions for more wood products utilization. Discussed prospective ideas for FY25 NDAA as it relates to "quality of life" provisions military and service personnel for increased wood products potential within the Department of Defense. National Defense Authorization Act FY25 NDAA to support bill language which establishes a contracting preference for primary construction materials of military construction projects that will enhance the quality of life of such projects end users. Support an additional $12 million above the Presidents Budget Request for research, development, test, and evaluation of mass timber applications for Department of Defense military construction projects.

Support for H.J.Res.27 - Providing for congressional disapproval under chapter 8 of title 5, United States Code, of the rule submitted by the Department of the Army, Corps of Engineers, Department of Defense and the Environmental Protection Agency relating to "Revised Definition of 'Waters of the United States'". Support carbon neutral biomass rider in Appropriations language. Section 432 of the FY23 Interior, Environment and Related Agencies Appropriations Bill (Policies Relating to Biomass Energy) Discussion for language around upcoming rule on Plywood and Composite MACT issues regarding lumber manufacturing Lobby for Issues related to keep the current level of PM 2.5 National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS) rule and the subsequent economic and environmental impacts of the rule. Lobby for issues related to GSA funding for mass timber contract preference under Senate Environment and Public Works (EPW) Committee for more wood products within the federal government building portfolio.

Support for abolishment of death estate tax (Death Tax Repeal Act of 2023) Tax Relief for American Families and Workers Act of 2024 through Small Business Legislative Council (SBLC). Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017. 23 Provisions Expire on December 31, 2025, have begun these communications with SBLC and internally but not on Capitol Hill yet, until Q3 and beyond. Support for repeal/delay of Corporate Transparency Act through amendment in National Defense Authorization Act through amendments sponsored by Senators Tim Scott (#2169) and James Lankford(#2831) would provide the business community and federal regulators additional time to educate millions of small business owners regarding the CTAs new reporting requirements and the onerous penalties resulting if they fail to comply. They would also allow time for the on-going legal challenge to work its way through the courts while restoring Congresss original intent to give covered entities a full two years to comply with the statutes reporting requirements.

Support for providing authorized/robust funding levels for Wood Innovations Grant at US Forest Service for 2024 Farm Bill. Support of Wood Design Education Program at US Forest Service in 2024 Farm Bill. Support for workforce training issues related to 2023 Farm Bill as it affects lumber manufacturing. Support for Rural Infrastructure Pilot Program as part of industry asks in the 2024 Farm Bill.
