CIRT joined in support of hearing testimony on Cutting Competition in Contracting before the Subcommitte on Cybersecurity, IT, and Government Innovation regarding the Biden Administrations costly PLAs on federal projects. CIRT joined with a coalition of business organizations to express strong support to Senator Bill Cassidy request for information (RFI) on portable benefits and commitment to independent contractors. CIRT joined a broad cross-section of organizations and industries led by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) raising a comprehensive series of issues/concerns regarding the DoDs Proposed Rule: Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification. CIRT supports amending the FY-2025 National Defense Authorization Act so as to delay by one year the Corporate Transparency Acts filing deadline. CIRT joins a coalition offering a comprehensive/critical comment on DoDs proposal to amend the DFARS to incorporate requirements regarding Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) 2.0/Program rule.
CIRT joined the FBETC coalition in support of extending or making permanent provisions of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act including (1) maintaining stepped-up basis and (2) estate tax relief. CIRT joined with a coalition of business organizations in support for language in the CR, which would delay the Corporate Transparency Acts year-end compliance deadline. CIRT strongly supports the Main Street Tax Certainty Act of 2023 that seeks to make permanent the 20 percent deduction under (Section 199A). CIRT strongly supports the Family and Small Business Taxpayer Protection Act (H.R. 23) to rescind the IRA of 22 that funds billions for tens of thousands of new IRS agents.
