H.R.2873/S.1536, the Tribal Gaming Regulatory Compliance Act. We oppose this bill. The bill would bring two Texas-based tribes under Indian Regulatory Gaming Act instead of having them remain within the parameters of the guiding statute that allowed for them to become federally recognized in the first place. Were this bill to pass, they could eventually force Texas into gaming compact negotiations, something we oppose.

-To keep sequestration from being extended beyond its current end date of 2032. -To oppose provisions in bills related to site neutral Medicare payments to hospitals at their hospital outpatient departments. -To push for increased reimbursement in CMS' 2024 IPPS rule. -To push for an extension of the LVH and MDH programs. -To push for an extension of DSH payments for states without expanded Medicaid. -To push for legislation to make changes to the REH program, paritulcarly to allow CAH hospitals that become REHs to return to CAH status regardless as to whether or not they originally entered the CAH program by state government election. -To oppose bills and provisions that would require that hospital outpatient departments be paid at the same rate as health clinics and doctors offices by Medicare.

-To oppose provisions in bills related to site neutral Medicare payments to hospitals at their hospital outpatient departments. -To oppose provisions in bills that would require hospital outpatient departments to bill insurance carriers at the same rate as primary care physician offices and health clinics despite the fact that these providers are not subject to EMTALA. -To return 340b to the program that it was before pharmaceutical companies began l limiting the scope of the program for hospitals. -To keep sequestration from being extended beyond its current end date of 2032. -To help hospitals navigate congressionally directed spending applications. -To push for BSN (nursing) to be made a DHS STEM certified degree so that graduates can stay in the country for practical training. -To push for workplace safety measures in hospitals that are similar to those enjoyed by flight attendants. -To push for increased reimbursement in CMS' 2024 IPPS rule. -To push for an extension of the LVH and MDH programs. -To push for an extension of DSH payments for states without expanded Medicaid. -To oppose bills and provisions that would require that hospital outpatient departments be paid at the same rate as health clinics and doctors offices whether by Medicare or private insurers. -To support the President's budget request for grant funding for cybersecurity upgrades at hospitals. -To support the SAVE Act (HR2584/S2768) which would make it a federal crime for someone to assault a healthcare worker, similar to how it works for flight attendants. -To support the Healthcare Workforce Resiliency Act (HR6205/S2311) which would allow for unused visas during a year to be transferred over to the visa category for bringing in nurses. -To support increased funding for the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of State for visa review and interview staff in order to address current nurse EB3 visa backlogs and retrogression.
