Support passage of HR 2437 to amend the boundaries of John H. Chafee Coastal Barrier Resources Unit L06 in North Topsail Beach.
Support provision of FY 2025 Energy and Water Resources Development Appropriations to allow completion of Surf City Coastal Storm Risk Management Project General Reevaluation Report to enable project to proceed to construction; secure FY2025 Energy and Water Resources Development Appropriations to allow New Topsail Inlet and Connecting Channels navigation dredging.
Seeking support for enactment of legislation in the Water Resources Development Act of 2024 directing the Corps of Engineers to expeditiously complete the San Diego County shoreline study (to mitigate for erosion caused by Camp Pendleton Harbor construction) and clarifying that the study should include a recommended plan for mitigating the erosion and an integrated environmental document.
Secure passage of H.R. 2437 to amend the boundaries of John Chafee Coastal Barrier Resources System UnitLO6 in North Topsail Beach to correct a mapping error.Support completion of Surf City Coastal Storm Risk Management Project General Reevaluation Report so project can proceed to construction. Support utilization of sand from Corps AIWW Disposal area for beach renourishment. Maintain funding for New Topsail Inlet and connecting channels to support navigation.
Supporting inclusion of sufficient additional funds in the Corps of Engineers FY 2024 Work Plan and Presidents budget for FY 2025 to complete the San Diego County shoreline study. Supporting including $1M in the Corps of Engineers FY 2024 Work Plan to allow additional sand to be dredged from Oceanside Harbor and deposited on City beaches. Supporting enactment of legislation in the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2024 (Divisin D) that would allow the San Diego County shoreline study to be completed with different appropriations than those used to initiate the study.
Secure support design of levee improvements needed to protect critical wastewater infrastructure servicing disadvantaged communities n western California from coastal flooding.
