"H.R.1493 & S.762"HCBS Access ActCombines a couple bills from 117th Congress to include the following, - Expanding Medicaid coverage - Recognizing the Role of the DSP (SOC) - Support for the Direct Care Workforce "H.R.547 & S.100"Better Care Better Jobs CMS to develop quality measures; Increases FMAP; Makes Money Follows the Person, permanent "H.R.3380"HEADs UP Act of 2023 This bill authorizes the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to award grants to support health centers that provide services for individuals with developmental disabilities, including dental care. Grant recipients must provide specialized treatment to individuals with developmental disabilities as necessary. The bill also provides statutory authority for HHS to designate individuals with developmental disabilities as health-professional shortage population groups for the purposes of the National Health Service Corps (NHSC). The NHSC provides scholarships and student loan repayment awards to eligible providers who agree to work with designated populations or in areas that face shortages of primary care, dental care, and mental health care providers." "H.R.459 & S.323"SAFER Health Act of 2023 This bill prohibits health care providers and insurance plans from disclosing in a legal proceeding an individual's personal health information related to an abortion or pregnancy without the individual's valid authorization. The prohibition applies to federal, state, local, and tribal proceedings, including civil, criminal, administrative, and legislative proceedings. The bill provides limited exceptions such as if the information is necessary to investigate physical harm to the individual. Further, the Department of Health and Human Services must conduct an outreach campaign to inform covered entities and the public about the prohibition.
