No specific bills, but VDMA America Inc. has had conversations with Congress about reauthorizing a Miscellaneous Tariff Bill and bolstering a new Section 301 tariff exclusions process. In addition, VDMA America Inc. has advocated to Congress and USTR to resolve the Section 232 dispute with the European Union.

VDMA America Inc. has been active in working with USTR and Trade and Technology Council Working Group 10 to try to achieve a regulatory agreement between the EU and U.S. on conformity assessment, which would make it easier for American and European exporters of machinery to have products certified in their own market for approval in the other market. In addition, VDMA Washington Inc. has also spoken about the benefits of such an agreement to Congress. VDMA America Inc. has also spoken with Congress to discuss how the creation of a new "Outbound Investment Screening" mechanism could affect VDMA member companies. VDMA Washington Inc. has made suggestions to Congress about how such a mechanism could be created without creating new barriers to trade for members.
