Advocated for consumer protections in the CFPB's credit card late fees rule, deferred interest credit cards, fee-harvester cards, loopholes for fees in APR disclosure rules, and fees for printed statements. Urged the CFPB to protect gamers from unfair, deceptive, or abusive acts or practices in the video game industry and to work with other agencies to ensure the implementation and enforcement of applicable laws concerning these practices, as well as issues related to data security, fraud, and privacy. Supported the CFPBs proposed Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) rule. Supported the CFPB's proposed interpretive rule on paycheck advances. Oppose any Congressional Review Act resolution to overturn the rule. Opposed attacks against the CFPB, CPSC, and FTC in HR 8773, the Financial Services and General Government Appropriations Act.The bill includes attacks against the CFPBs independent funding, director structure, and small business lending and credit card penalty fees rules. It would also repeal the FTCs CARS Rule, which prohibits auto scams, and the CPSCs recall of a dangerous gas range. Supported the Protecting Consumers from Payment Scams Act when it was introduced. It would close loopholes in the Electronic Funds Transfer Act (EFTA), in particular to make sure liability protections are extended to consumers when they are duped into authorizing a transaction, not just when unauthorized transactions are made.
