Advocating to amend section 1150 of the Water Resources Development Act of 2016 (P.L. 114-322). In the wake of ice jams on the Missouri River which can threatened energy generation and water delivery on the Missouri River, clearer protocols must be put in place by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. To accomplish this goal, the Army Corps of Engineers should update their winter management plan for the Missouri River so that adequate winter water flows and adequate water levels exist to ensure uninterrupted energy generation and water delivery; addressing and mitigating ice jams before they cause interruptions to utility operations.
Funding for Omaha Public Power District grid resiliency and modernization.
