NCRA has been working on the issue broadcast captioning and accessibility with the FCC. Further, NCRA has been working with the FCC'sDisability Advisory Committee (DAC) on issues related to reviewing and renewing existing caption quality standards for applicability to AutomaticSpeech Recognition (ASR).

NCRA lobbied for the reintroduction of the Training for Realtime Writers Act, which seeks to secure federal funding for the training of new captioners.
