Fund and Reauthorize the Supporting and Improving Rural EMS Needs (SIREN) Law. Support S.265/H.R. 4646, to reauthorize the SIREN Act grants for another five years (2024-2028); Urge Congress to fund the SIREN program at $32 million in FY25; Support legislation to reimburse EMS for Treatment in Place (TIP) and Transport to Alternate Destination (TAD). Support S.3236/H.R.6257, the Emergency Medical Services Reimbursement for On-Scene and Support Act. Support introduction of legislation on a TIP/TAD pilot; Support H.R. 8042, the Community Paramedicine Act of 2024; Support S. 1115/H.R. 2574, EMS Counts; S. 2757/H.R. H.R.5530, VA Emergency Transportation Access Act; Educate and support for the creations of Critical Access Ambulance designation; S. 3765/H.R.6960 - Emergency Medical Services for Children (EMSC); Support S. 2757/H.R. 5530, Protect Access to Vital Ground Ambulance Services for Veterans and Communities; Support the inclusion of language in the House/Senate Labor HHS Appropriations for EMS workforce shortage. Insufficient reimbursement for EMS care and lack of federal investment in EMS are long-term problems that have been building for decades. The additional burdens placed on EMS systems and personnel during the pandemic made a serious problem even worse, pushing many EMS systems in our country to the breaking point. Most communities are facing crisis-level shortages of EMS personnel, and many have seen EMS agencies close altogether, removing a critical lifeline from these communities. The shortage of EMS personnel threatens to undermine our emergency 9-1-1 response infrastructure; Support Congress to hold congressional hearings on the EMS workforce crisis and the causes for the exodus of the EMS workforce from the profession; Support the inclusion of language in the House/Senate Labor HHS Appropriations bill on EMS education on rare diseases; Support H.R. 1666/S.1673, Protecting Access to Ground Ambulance Medical Services Act of 2023; Express concern and urge Congress to amend language on military medics included in H.R.6433, to preserve access to emergency medical services; Support language included in the NDAA on transitioning military medics; Support participation of EMS Caucus.
