LIVESTOCK MARKETING ASSOCIATION

Lobbying to end a prohibition of livestock markets owning or investing in packing facilities. The bill, H.R. 530- Amplifying Processing Livestock in the United States Act, and its Senate companion, S. 813- Expanding Local Meat Processing Act, would amend the Packers and Stockyards Act to end that prohibition by allowing for investment in packing facilities below a threshold that would exclude the top ten largest processors in the United States. Lobbying for USDA to provide EID tags for cattle producers.
