What they lobby on

Not all fees billed to the client were related to lobbying activity. Over the course of approximately eight days, I periodically communicated with individuals (known personally through prior service or in offices I interacted with as a judge advocate) on behalf of the client's efforts to submit a grant proposal to be considered and possibly awarded by AFWERX. Specifically, the intent was to obtain signatures from two Airmen who would be interested in assisting the client in a feasibility study to test the application of the client's Early Evidence Kits in remote locations (like the military). I subsequently escorted the CEO to visit individual congressional offices to discuss the EEK and gauge interest in possibly joining a bicameral/bipartisan general letter of support due to Congressional interest in the results of the study. My role was to discuss my litigation experience and use of such kits, and to answer any legal questions regarding their use. That visit led to being introduced to an officer at Fort Liberty in the medical field that expressed interest (through email) in learning more. However, I had no further involvement with that.
