Support on behalf of client H.R. 1586 and S. 796, both entitled The Forest Protection and Wildland Firefighter Safety Act 2023, are companion bills that would provide further specificity in current statute that exempt aerially applied fire retardant from needing a permit under the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) under the Clean Water Act. Support on inclusion of an amendment into FAA Reauthorization Act to update and include protections for hull designs of amphibious float planes.
