General issues related to the payment system and related issues impacting financial institutions. Specific issues included: debit and credit card interchange price controls and routing mandate proposals (Durbin-Marshall), including in the context of the Appropriations process, and in the context of the National Defense Authorization Act; draft privacy and data security proposals, including the American Privacy Rights Act (McMorris Rodgers / Cantwell), and the Data Privacy Act of 2023 (McHenry)(H.R. 1165), including in the context of the National Defense Authorization Act and the Appropriations process.
