COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS

Protect the Medicaid system and oppose efforts to cut Medicaid, including support for legislation to repeal or delay statutory Medicaid DSH cuts for FY 2025-FY 2027, including HR 2665, the Supporting Safety Net Hospitals Act and related legislation. Support for reforming the Medicaid inmate exclusion, including HR 2400/S 1165, the Reentry Act, and HR 3074/ S 971, the Due Process, Continuity of Care Act, and related legislation.

Support FY 2024 Congressionally Directed Spending requests for Cook County Health. Oppose efforts to cut health care funding. Support additional flexibilities for the obligation of local funds under the American Rescue Plan Act State and Local Fiscal Recovery Fund.

Support for health care safety net hospital systems, including protecting the 340B prescription drug discount program, expand the health care workforce (NHSC loan repayment, etc.), and funding for immigrant health care.
