Support for Congressional efforts related to student veterans and student veteran services; continued review of H.R.7323.

Support for agriculture research, Capacity Building Grants for Non-Land Grant Colleges of Agriculture, and forestry programs in the Farm Bill Reauthorization.

Support for the UW System's 2024 Federal Priorities including the reauthorization of the Higher Education Act. Support for the UW System's best practices on research security across entities and the organization; continued review of H.R. 5933 - Defending Education Transparency and Ending Rogue Regimes Engaging in Nefarious Transactions Act. Support for efforts related to freedom of expression and civil dialogue on college campuses; continued review of H.R.7683 - Respecting the First Amendment on Campus Act. Continued review of efforts to enact changes to Competency Based Education (CBE) and H.R.7495 - Empowering Learners through Competency-Based Education Act and concerns with H.R.6951 - College Cost Reduction Act. Concerns with ongoing delays related to the FAFSA Simplification Act.

Support for the UW System's 2024 Federal Priorities which look to foster talent and diversity including support for comprehensive immigration reform that includes support for students brought to the United States as young children and international students who wish to remain post-graduation; support of efforts to expand the Pell Grant Program to include DACA students.

Support for the inclusion of higher education priorities and funding including efforts to expand the Pell Grant and increase the federal award amount, support for additional funding for federal research and research infrastructure, support for workforce and economic development initiatives, student mental health and academic success priorities in the FY24 budget and appropriations legislation. Continued support for the UW System's 2024 Federal Priorities including increased funding for: the National Institutes of Health, the National Science Foundation, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's National Estuarine Research Reserve, the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative, the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Capacity Building Grants for Non-Land Grant Colleges of Agriculture, and the Pell Grant Program. Support for federal financial aid programs including: the Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant, TRIO, GEAR UP, and the Pell Grant Program. Support for sustainability efforts and energy and water sciences research - including via the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and Department of Energy - the Freshwater Collaborative of Wisconsin, including PFAS research. Support for the Connected Systems Institute, the School of Freshwater Sciences, research vessels, and the Wisconsin Accelerator for Full-scale Electrification Research; support for health profession education and research including Support for S.3770 - Future Advancement of Academic Nursing (FAAN) Act; Title VIII nursing workforce development; and National Institutes of Nursing Research Funding. Support for the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and the Manufacturing Extension Partnership program in FY24 appropriations legislation.
