The Graduate PLUS Loan Program will be eliminated for all new borrowers. It is a federal student loan issued by the U.S. Department of Education designed for graduate or professional students to cover education costs not met by other financial aid. They require a credit check, offer fixed interest rates, and allow borrowing up to the full cost of attendance. We petition that the program should be eliminated because it will produce dire economic consequences on taxpayers.
