Discussion with US Senate and House representatives (staff level) from House Interior Appropriations Majority, Chairman Mike Simpson, House Interior and Environment Subcommittee on Appropriations, Congressman Tom Cole, and Senator Charles Schumer on additional resources needed for the American Museum of Natural History to be compliant with Native American Grave Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA) regulations.
Discussion with staff members from Senator Schumer's office about potential legislation to have the federal government take over the administration of Great Gull Island, which is currently owned by the Museum.
Worked with FEMA and Majority Leader Schumer's office to receive FEMA reimbursements from FY21 and FY22 for pandemic related expenses the American Museum of Natural History incurred and are eligible for FEMA reimbursements.
